Zoom Room Dog Agility Training Center
THE ZOOM ROOM

Concept: Modern play space and canine social club for dogs and their owners, catering to a upper-middle class clientele in a high growth neighborhood. This business was designed to fill the needs of West Los Angeles dog owners for agility and puppy obedience training in a safe, indoor location with a particular emphasis on franchise-friendly business practices.

Budget: Under $75,000.

Execution: All aspects of concept, website design and construction, marketing, PR, construction, site selection, employee training program, operations manual, and branding. This is the current business of Jaime Van Wye and is poised to begin accepting franchisees in 2009.

Rover Kennel
ROVER

Concept: A high-end boarding kennel with five revenue streams: grooming, boarding, training, daycare, and retail. This kennel was designed to capture the niche in Los Angeles kennels for a full-service kennel that also offered playcare in a hotel-like setting that would appeal to the neighborhood's entertainment executives.

Budget: Over $500,000.

Execution: KennelStart's Jaime Van Wye designed and implemented the entire business from the ground up. Concept, branding, construction, site selection, zoning, permits, employee development and training, business operations, branding, and marketing. Sold in early 2007.

Cat Hotel
CAT HOTEL - Name To Be Announced Pending Trademark

Concept: A cats-only boarding kennel with three revenue streams: grooming, boarding, and retail. Working closely with two cat-loving entrepreneurs, Jaime developed a cost-effective business plan to take advantage of the owners' strong design aesthetic and the need for a modern cat hotel in Los Angeles.

Budget: Under $100,000.

Execution: KennelStart is developing a complete package for this kennel as the owners are switching from the events and entertainment industry. Concept, branding, construction, site selection, zoning, permits, employee development and training, business operations, branding, and marketing will all be supervised closely by Jaime Van Wye. Opening in 2008.

Le Paws
LE PAWS

Concept: High-end luxury boarding facility in Los Angeles catering to a sophisticated, no-holds barred crowd. The Dog Hotel will run in conjunction with the Le Paws talent agency and studio training, and will therefore incorporate many aspects of the existing business into a suites-only dog hotel.

Budget: Over $1,000,000

Execution: Jaime has been hired as the primary business consultant for Le Paws Agency, a dog talent agency branching out into the luxury dog boarding business. Jaime is assisting in pre-planning, financial feasibility studies, zoning and facility design, and opening and training staff members. This project is unique in that the reality show Off The Leash, featuring the owners of Le Paws, will be filming a second season after the dog hotel opens.
